Projects

I am forever grateful for everyone who attended the Boxing4Brockton fundraiser. It is a beautiful thing to witness when the boxing community and the Brockton community come together to create something special. I am truly at a loss for words for how incredible the night turned out. The energy, the support, the heart. It was all there. It will show when we have a gym filled with Brockton High students training at Cappiello’s Boxing Gym.

To our sponsors, thank you for believing in this mission and investing in the future of Brockton. Everyone who bought a ticket played a role in making our city’s youth stronger, more confident, and more disciplined.

To every boxer who stepped into that ring. All the hard work goes unnoticed and un awarded. But I see you and respect the time, effort, discipline you dedicated to boxing. As I can confidently say now. It is not easy and it’s not a glitz and glamour sport. It is a rough sport, but in that rough is where you truly find yourself. Which makes it hands down different than any other sport.

This all started from a simple conversation between me and a fellow Brockton teacher during a professional development day. That talk led to an idea… which led to action… which led to what you all saw Saturday night. For that, I am forever grateful. “It’s bigger than us.”
